How Do I Change My Epic Games Name On Xbox

There is no way to alter this every bit that is the name used on the game through Xbox. On your epic account you tin have a username also. The merely style to change the name you are wanting is to do a gamer tag change. This link may help yous from fortnite forums.

fortnite on xbox goes by your gamertag name not your epic games name. So either brand a new xbox gamertag or pay the x$ fee to modify your xbox gamertag

Using a web browser, become to https://www.epicgames.com and sign into your account. Yous'll take the option to choose the platform your account is on when logging in. Choose the Xbox icon to sign into your business relationship using your Xbox Gamertag and credentials. In one case logged in, you should run into your Epic Proper name displayed in the height right-hand corner of the web page, click on your name and go to "Account". Before you tin can change your Epic Name (Fortnite Display Name) you'll need to ensure you've verified your account via email.
You will see your "Display Proper noun" in the offset field. If you are eligible for a proper name change, you tin can do it there. You can only change your Epic Proper noun every 2 weeks, and then ensure you really want the proper name that you've chosen and that information technology doesn't violate Epic Games or Xbox Codes of Behave of grade.

I am not interested in paying MS each fourth dimension I wish to change a gamertag, merely some other reason to go on playing FN on the Nintendo Switch; also there is no $65 "alive subscription".

Thanks and I have washed this before, just FN uses the XB proper name vs the FN proper name. And considering of how FN combined their services with XB, I had to utilize some Greek messages to make my name the aforementioned; this was all done originally when setting information technology upwards.

After reading through it seems that the result itself is that Fortnite servers will recognize the name of the Xbox gamertag for your Fortnite account and unfortunately if these two are linked, then the gamertag would have to exist inverse in order to meet that different display proper noun.
In this case, the Epic Games Forums website does have community information on how to unlink the two and this would exist our best suggestion so that you can and so switch the display proper noun without the connection of the Xbox account.
Effort this and permit united states know if this works.

Yes, later on farther research, y'all can change it using the instructions I posted, but still demand to unlink the Xbox and Fortnite accounts due to how the servers are set. It looks like XBF Javier R has info on that below.

Howdy dubstir,
Since yous are playing the game on Xbox Live servers using your Xbox profile to earn achievements and save your data, yous are required to use your gamertag as that is your display name on Xbox Live. Information technology'south the same on other platforms, you have to use your PSN name, Steam proper noun, etc.
I'k non sure most Steam or the Switch but PSN charges for proper noun changes every bit well.
Apologies for the inconvenience only that applies to whatsoever online game on Xbox Live.
